Has anyone tried one of these BBE Sonic Stomps? Any problem getting pinch harmonics with these units?
Thx
Kev

Getting pinch harmonics is a technique thing. You should be able to do them on your guitar unplugged from the amp. A pedal may make them ring out longer but it wont increase the likely hood of you being able to perform the technique. I don't really be into the hype of a pedal making harmonics easier.

I remember I used to have a Rockman and it was hard getting pinch harmonics easily with that unit. I don't believe it totally technique, the amount of gain is an important influence as well.

Like I said, the pedal will help them ring out longer and more gain will help them to squeel out longer and better...but actually making a pinch harmonic is totally technique. If you're having trouble getting them to ring out it could be a technique issor or it could also be a guitar setup issue. Sometimes not having your guitar set up properly can be a major cause of not getting harmonics. Everything should be perfectly straight and aligned.

By the way...don't take this as me being a jackass...it's not meant that way at all. Just trying to help out as it could be another issue and not the pedal or gain you're using because like I said. You should be able to do a pinch harmonic on your guitar unplugged.

I've seen some amps or effects kill the pinch harmonic, where it just either doesn't pick up the signal or kills it in processing or preamp. I believe that's what the poster was eluding to?

ADA MP-1's on lower gain settings can eat up pinch harmonics. I should know ive had one for a few years in my rack. it gets unloved now, the 5150 takes up all my time. that reminds me, i wish i could somehow turn my 5150 into a rack mounted amp, that would be 80's and badass!
